Field Trip Friday starts with visit to AWARE animal rescue at 4158 Klondike Road, Lithonia, Georgia, 30038 from 11am to 1230pm.
We’ll then visit Arabia Mountain from 1pm to 3pm with a guided Hike and end up testing a stream to determine water quality.

Get ready to learn about the local animal and plant biodiversity and conservation challenges with Shaundon JB Moore, Arabia Naturalist.
We’ll go on a hiking route for about 1.5 hours and then visit a stream and have a short workshop on basic stream and water quality asssessments (0.5 hours) . You’ll be able to practice using the tools of the trade.
We’ll finish the day with information on rock outcrops, forest, and stream ecology and learn about becoming a Naturalist and Conservationist.
This event is FREE for up to 40 students.
Free transportation from Clarkston campus to AWARE and Arabia for the first 14 students.
Vans leave at 10am from Clarkston campus Lot 5.
If you are driving yourself or carpooling, meet at Arabia Mountain. We’ll be going to the Ranger’s Station there. 4158 Klondike Road, Lithonia, Georgia, 30038. Parking is free but limited spaces are available so carpool if you can.
